The Department of Information Technology is running B.E. in Information Technology and the department is approved research Centre of RTM Nagpur University for pursuing a Ph.D. in Information Technology and Computer Science. The B.E. in Information Technology programme is accredited by NBA in the second cycle and got an extension for three years so the UG programme is accredited up to the year 2023.
The entire world is in the era of Information Technology. In COVID-19 Pandemic 90-95% Indian Works force worked from home. Most of the educational institutions conducted online classes for our students using educational apps like Google meeting, Cisco WebEx, Zoom, Microsoft team. Every people using online apps for payment of different bills using payment apps like Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay, etc. This is possible only because of Information Technology.
Every IT Industry is working on upcoming technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Blockchain, Internet of Things, Cloud computing, etc. Being an autonomous institute, we have a curriculum as per the industry perspective. The department is always worked on the overall development of students through academics and organizing co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
The student of our department is the brand ambassador for ATOS SYNTEL and four students got Kiran Foundation Scholarship of Rs. 40,000/- per year from Persistent System Pvt. Ltd., Nagpur. More than 90% of students are placed in reputed Multinational IT Companies through campus placement.
The faculty members are continuously working on the submission of Funding proposals to different funding agencies. We have received funding of Rs. 22 Lacs from different funding agencies like AICTE and DST. The department is providing consultancy in the domain of Computer Networking and we have a consultancy of Rs. 30.5 Lacs from Industry and other sister institutions.
Information Technology is the only field for the overall development of society, and it is the backbone of the Indian/world economy.
