Importance of Education and Career Awareness

On 25th October 2024, students from Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE), Nagpur, under the banner of Association of Civil Technocrats (ACT), Civil Engineering Department, IEI Students Chapters, and ASCE Students Chapters under the ages of IQAC, visited Cambridge School, located in Hingna, Wanadongri, as part of their social outreach initiative. The visit aimed to instill the importance of education and career awareness among Class II students in a fun, engaging, and inspiring way.

The YCCE students interacted with the young children through storytelling, creative visuals, and real-life examples to convey how education forms the foundation of personal growth and societal development. They spoke about how being sincere in school opens the doors to future career opportunities in fields like engineering, medicine, teaching, and more. The interaction also encouraged students to dream big and work hard toward achieving their goals.

The school faculty appreciated YCCE’s effort in nurturing early awareness and motivation in young learners. The session concluded with a message emphasizing that every child has the potential to shape the future, and education is the key that unlocks it.

Understanding Road Conditions in MIDC, Industrial Zones

As part of their academic and practical learning initiative, students from Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE), Nagpur, under the banner of Association of Civil Technocrats (ACT), Civil Engineering Department, IEI Students Chapters, and ASCE Students Chapters, under the ages of IQAC, visited the MIDC area in Wadi, Hingna on 24th October 2024. The purpose of the visit was to observe and understand the existing road conditions and evaluate the importance of an efficient transport system in industrial zones such as MIDC.

During the visit, students surveyed various access roads, internal industrial routes, and logistics corridors within the MIDC region. They interacted with local workers, transport operators, and small business owners to gain first-hand insight into the challenges faced due to poor road maintenance, congestion, and irregular transport connectivity.

The visit highlighted how critical a well-maintained and planned transport system is for the smooth functioning of industrial operations, the timely delivery of goods, and worker safety. Students also discussed potential solutions like better drainage, regular maintenance, traffic regulation, and integration of smart transport infrastructure for such industrial areas.

Faculty coordinators praised the students for their keen observations and analytical thinking, noting that the activity helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world infrastructure issues.

Inspiring Young Entrepreneurs

An interactive session was conducted by the students of Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE), Nagpur,  under the banner of Association of Civil Technocrats (ACT), Civil Engineering Department, IEI Students Chapters, and ASCE Students Chapters under the ages of IQAC visited Deshmukh Mahavidyalaya, Hingna, Wanadongri, Nagpur, on 14/09/2024 to spread awareness about the importance of small business ideas and the significance of career planning in today’s dynamic and competitive environment.

The YCCE team engaged the students through real-life success stories and examples of innovative, small-scale business models that are easy to implement, low-cost, and particularly suitable for rural and semi-urban settings. The discussion included opportunities in agriculture, food processing, digital services, and local crafts, along with insights into government schemes and startup support systems available for aspiring entrepreneurs.

In addition to entrepreneurship, the session highlighted the value of early career planning, skill development, and self-employment as viable alternatives to traditional career paths. Students were encouraged to identify local challenges and explore sustainable, community-oriented business solutions.

The faculty and students of Deshmukh Mahavidyalaya responded positively, expressing appreciation for the session’s motivational content and practical relevance. The initiative successfully fostered entrepreneurial awareness and emphasized the role of youth in driving self-reliant growth within their communities.
