A hearty welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, Nagpur. You have arrived at one of the best institutions of central India, an institution that is ranked recently among the top 185 in the country for Engineering & Technology. The Civil Engineering Department was established in 1984 and is located in an empathetic and enthusiastic environment. The department offers one undergraduate program B.E. in Civil Engineering with an intake of 120 and two postgraduate programs with Structural Engineering with an intake 25 and Environmental Engineering with an intake of 18 as specialization. The Civil Engineering Department is also a recognized research center for Ph.D. affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. Total 30 candidates are awarded PhD successfully and currently 18 research scholars are pursuing PhD. The department has highly qualified and dedicated faculty. The department has 14 Ph.D. faculties and 18 faculties are pursuing their doctoral degree.

Our graduates work in almost every technology in the area of construction, environmental, water resources, transportation and geotechnical engineering. We genuinely care about our society, culture, students and their future. With a continuously evolving academic curriculum which lays great emphasis on practical training, we provide quality education and training to our students. The department is also running one minor program in Civil Engineering and three honor program in Construction Technology, Environmental Engineering and Remote Sensing & GIS. For the overall development of the student; department of Civil engineering is also associated with memberships of professional bodies such as Institution of Engineers (India) and Indian Water Works Association (IWWA). We formulated a student chapter as the Association of Civil Technocrats (ACT). Various activities of these chapters provide student to gain knowledge and interact with students and staff of other colleges/universities as well as Industry Engineers. Students have taken part in various competitions and won National Level top positions in competitions. Our department also provides internship to students for better learning, department has the MoUs with well-known industry and research institute like CSIR-NEERI, Ashtavinayak planner & Developers Pvt. Ltd. CADD Center Training Services Pvt. Ltd, SPEC Designers Pvt. Ltd., M/s. Aquades Structural Consultants Pvt. Ltd., Vighnaharta Consulting Engineers, Structwel Designer & Consultant Pvt. Ltd. and ImaGIS Engineering & Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
