Mission of the Department
    • To prepare the students to become competent professionals in Computer Science & Engineering and to be the responsible citizens by imparting state of the art education in CSE and also by imbibing soft skills and social ethics in them.

Program Educational Objectives of the program (PEO)

 

  • PEO 1 – Preparation: 
    • To prepare students to succeed in employment/profession and/or to pursue post graduate and research educations in Computer Science &Engineering discipline in particular and allied engineering disciplines in general.
  • PEO 2 – Core Competence: 
    • To provide students with a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals required to formulate, analyse and solve engineering problems requiring knowledge of Computer Science &Engineering.
  • PEO 3 – Breadth: 
    • To prepare students with engineering breadth to innovate, design, develop software products and to contribute in providing solutions related to multidisciplinary real life problems.
  • PEO 4 – Professionalism:
    •  To inculcate in students professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skills and teamwork to become a successful professional.
  • PEO 5 – Learning Environment:

Program Outcomes(PO)

  • PO 1 – Engineering knowledge: 
    • Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization for the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PO 2 – Problem analysis: 
    • Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • PO 3 – Design/development of solutions: 
    • Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • PO 4 – Conduct investigations of complex problems:
    •  Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO 5 – Modern tool usage:
    •  Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities, with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PO 6 – The engineer and society:
    •  Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

COSMOS

About COSMOS :

The Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering has a student Committee known as ‘COSMOS’. It stands for ‘Computer Science Management and Organizing Structure’.

Under COSMOS students undertake various activities of Social & Technical importance & also plan various competitions.

The aim is to increase the involvement of the majority of students in various events, thereby enhancing their personality & increase their employability skills.

COSMOS acts as an umbrella body for all of the activities of the CSE department and oversees the proper organizing & smooth functioning of various events in the department. Motive is to add up an edge in addition to academics by organizing activities, tech fest, events, etc. The annual event is ‘UPSURGE’ which is a National-level tech fest organized by the COSMOS Committee.

About ACM Student Chapter (ACM-SC)

Department has started the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Student chapter in the year 2022. It serves as the hub of activity for the students of the department and the computing community at large. Various seminars, webinars, guest lectures, student development programs, learning forums, and networking opportunities with peers and experts across the computing spectrum.

About Google Developer Student Club (GDSC)

Google Developer Student Clubs are university-based community groups for students interested in Google developer technologies. Students from all undergraduate or graduate programs with an interest in growing as a developer are welcome. By joining a GDSC, students grow their knowledge in a peer-to-peer learning environment and build solutions for local businesses and their communities. Every year, Google selects leads from across the globe who align with the vision of GDSC and want to empower their community.

The Defence Club of YCCE, founded in 2024 proudly serves a dual purpose: firstly, guiding and supporting students with dreams of joining the Indian armed forces, and secondly, facilitating the comprehensive development of individuals eager to enhance their personality traits. LAKSHYA offers dynamic array of activities tailored to meet the diverse needs and aspirations of its members .The club’s schedule includes regular workshops and seminars conducted by seasoned veterans and experts from the armed forces, organizing mock recruitment drives and training sessions to help members prepare for various selection processes and interviews, hosting leadership and team-building exercises, public speaking workshops, and personality development sessions aimed at honing essential skills for success in any field. Furthermore, LAKSHYA organizes field trips to military establishments, where members can witness firsthand the operations and ethos of our armed forces. Through these diverse activities and initiatives, LAKSHYA strives to create a nurturing environment where individuals can discover their potential, build lasting connections, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and excellence.
