About Department

The Department of Electronics Engineering, YCCE, was established in 1984. At present, one UG program, BE (Electronics Engineering) and Two PG programs, M.Tech. (Electronics Engineering) & M.Tech. (VLSI Design). M.Tech. (VLSI Design) is offered in two shifts. Majority of faculty members are actively involved in key research areas, including VLSI design, Embedded System design, Digital Signal & Image Processing, Wireless Communications. Various department level activities are organized by two active student's societies, namely EESA (Electronics Engineering Students Association) and IEEE Students Chapter (IEEE fraternity @ YCCE). Through active interaction with the industry, leading entrepreneurs, alumni, scientists, professors from institutes of eminence from India and abroad, students are encouraged to participate in research oriented activities, project competitions and technical paper presentations. The department regularly organizes In-house trainings, value added programs and Workshop series.
Departmental Mission and Vision The mission and vision statement of the department are drafted in line with the mission vision statement of the institute, however the focus is given on the academics and preparing the students in the field of Electronics Engineering.
Mission “To prepare professional through quality Teaching-Learning, imbibing research culture and lifelong learning”.
Vision “To become a department imparting quality education and to provide a platform for research and development to fulfill the needs of industry and society”.

1. Preparation: To enable student to achieve immediate employment in Electronics, Communication and related core industries and to build strong fundamental knowledge amongst student to pursue higher education and continue professional development in Electronics & other fields

2. Core Competence: To enable student to analyze and solve Electronics Engineering problems by applying basic principles of mathematics, science, and engineering and able to use modern engineering techniques, skills, and tools to fulfill societal needs.

3. Breadth: To enable student to innovate, design, develop hardware and software components to create novel products and solutions.

4. Professionalism: To nurture students to be sensitive to ethical, societal and environmental issues while conducting their professional work.

5. Learning Environment: To provide student with an academic environment with awareness of excellence & to prepare competent human resource and responsible citizens for engineering profession through life-long learning needed for a successful professional career.
(A) PROGRAM OUTCOMES

Engineering Graduates will be able to:
1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

12. Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

Program Specific Outcomes At the end of Program, Graduate students will have
  • an ability to design, develop and test electronics systems in the areas related to analog and digital electronics, signal processing, embedded systems and VLSI Design,
  • an ability to analyze & design electronic applications using Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools & related software.
Key Strengths
  • Department is having a separate building of 3 floors with buildup area of 6672.52 Sq.Mtr.
  • Department is running one UG (regular), and Two PG courses, M. Tech. (EE) and M. Tech. (VLSI Design) (Shift 1 and 2)
  • Department is an approved Research center for doctoral research (PhD program), with 40 number of registered candidates, out of which PhD has been awarded to 4 research scholars. Department is also an approved Research center for M.E. by research.
  • Infrastructure as per AICTE norms: 8 e-classrooms, 1 conference hall, 1 Department Library / Board Room,
  • EDUSAT - CDEEP center and National mission on education through ICT(NMEICT), funded by MHRD, Govt. of India.
  • Department has 40 dynamic, experienced faculties., 06 Professor,4 Associate Professor and  s.30 Assistant Professor
  • The area of expertise of faculty is broad spectrum, which includes VLSI front end & back end design, Embedded System, Virtual Instrumentation, Soft computing, Digital Image Processing, VLSI signal processing, wireless communication, and network security.
  • Department is having two student societies

  • Grant Received for research activity
    • Grant of Rs. 25 lac is received from Department of Science and Technology for enhancing VLSI facility for Design and Development of System on Chip.
    • Grant of Rs. 10.75 lac is received from AICTE under RPS for Development of System on Chip Data Converters.
    • Grant of Rs. 9.82 lac is received from AICTE under Modernization of Digital System Design Laboratory.
    • Grant of Rs. 1lac is sanctioned under Inhouse Minor funding proposal scheme for Networking through Wireless sensors.
  • Seven Patent applications are filed, out of which 1 is published and 2 patents are granted.
  • In house Workshop series is conducted and Hands-on training is given on latest technology for bringing improvement in quality of project work.
  • Department regularly organizes Short Term Training programs.
  • Every Year Department publishes Annual Magazine "Aadyam " & Newsletter "Electronewsline" and wallpaper 'Drishti'
