About Department

Electronics-DepartmentThe Department of Electronics Engineering, was established in 1984. Department is running one UG (Regular) Program and one PG Program M. Tech. (Electronics Engineering). Majority of faculty members are actively involved in key research areas, including VLSI design, Embedded System design, Digital Signal & Image Processing, Wireless Communications. Various department level activities are organized by two active student's societies, namely IEEE Students Chapter (IEEE fraternity @ YCCE)and EESA (Electronics Engineering Students Association). Through active interaction with the industry, leading entrepreneurs, alumni, scientists, professors from institutes of eminence from India and abroad, students are encouraged to participate in research oriented activities, project competitions and technical paper presentations. The department regularly organizes In-house trainings, value added programs and Workshop series.
Departmental Mission and Vision The mission and vision statement of the department are drafted in line with the mission vision statement of the institute, however the focus is given on the academics and preparing the students in the field of Electronics Engineering.
Vision To be hub of academic excellence providing effective teaching-learning and research towards generating competent professionals.
Mission To chisel electronics engineering professionals through analysis, synthesis of electronic system’s using hardware and simulation in a fostering environment.
Program Educational Objectives(PEOs)
  • Preparation: To enable student to achieve immediate employment in Electronics, Communication and related core industries and to build strong fundamental knowledge amongst student to pursue higher education and continue professional development in Electronics & other fields
  •  Core Competence: To enable student to analyze and solve Electronics Engineering problems by applying basic principles of mathematics, science, and engineering and able to use modern engineering techniques, skills, and tools to fulfill societal needs.
  • Breadth: To enable student to innovate, design, develop hardware and software components to create novel products and solutions.
  • Professionalism: To nurture students to be sensitive to ethical, societal and environmental issues while conducting their professional work.
  •  Learning Environment: To provide student with an academic environment with awareness of excellence & to prepare competent human resource and responsible citizens for engineering profession through life-long learning needed for a successful professional career.

Engineering Graduates will be able to:
1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

12. Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

(B) Program Specific Outcomes(PSOs) At the end of Program, Graduate students will have
  • an ability to design, develop and test electronics systems in the areas related to analog and digital electronics, signal processing, embedded systems and VLSI Design,
  • an ability to analyze & design electronic applications using Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools & related software.
Key Strengths
  • Infrastructure is as per AICTE norms. Department is having a separate building of 3 floors with buildup area of 6672.52 Sq.Mtr.
  • B. E. (Electronics Engineering) programme is accreditated by NBA, New Delhi.
  • The laboratories in the department are well equipped to fulfill the need of undergraduate and postgraduate education.
  • Department has 28 dynamic, experienced faculties, 05 Professors, 05 Associate Professors and 18 Assistant Professors.
  • 11 faculty with Ph. D. qualification.
  • Seven Patent applications are filed, out of which three are published.
  • The department is approved as a Research Centre of RTMNU for Ph.D.
  • The area of expertise of faculty is broad spectrum, which includes VLSI front end & backend design, Embedded System Design, Digital Signal/Image Processing and Wireless Communication and Networks.
  • EDUSAT - CDEEP center and National mission on education through ICT(NMEICT), funded by MHRD, Govt. of India.
  • In house Workshop series is conducted and Hands-on training is given on latest technology for bringing improvement in quality of project work.
  • Department regularly organizes Short Term Training programs.
